The power handling of an isolator or circulator is the amount of power that can be applied to the device before a degradation in performance occurs which will result in the device not meeting its specified performance. A circulator may still continue to operate and act as a circulator with a reduced performance. However an isolator is limited by the termination fitted and if the power is exceeded then the termination is likely to fail.
